Hello June: A Handwritten Font That Makes Your Campaigns Instantly Recognizable

It’s 9:47 a.m. on launch day — and I’m squinting at my phone screen, scrolling through the Instagram feed preview of our new summer collection campaign. The mockups look clean, the colors pop, but something feels… soft. Not in a good way. The headline text on the first carousel slide? Blending into the background. The “Limited Drop” tagline? Getting lost between the product shot and the CTA button. That’s when I swap in Hello June.

Instant shift. Not magic — strategy. Hello June is a casual handwritten font with an elegant touch: relaxed curves, subtle contrast, and that rare balance of approachability and intention. It doesn’t shout. It leans in. It says *“I know you’re scrolling fast — but pause here, just for this.”* As a script font from Script Amp, it’s built for visibility, not just decoration — a display font that works because it’s legible first, expressive second.

We used Hello June across six core campaign assets: Instagram Reels covers, Pinterest pins for our DIY summer guide series, YouTube thumbnail banners for tutorial videos, email header graphics, a Shopify homepage banner, and a set of branded Canva templates for our community creators. In every case, it anchored the message without competing with imagery — especially on small screens. On mobile previews, its open letterforms and generous x-height kept “Join the Glow-Up” readable even at 28px over a textured background. No pixelation. No guessing.

Here’s what makes Hello June work so well in fast-moving digital spaces: it’s designed for scanability. Not every script font is. Some get too ornate, too tight, or too fragile at smaller sizes. Hello June avoids that. Its lowercase ‘a’, ‘g’, and ‘y’ have clear, friendly shapes. The uppercase letters have gentle swashes — present, but never distracting. And crucially, it includes stylistic alternates and standard ligatures (like “fi”, “fl”, “ff”) that smooth out rhythm in short headlines and callouts. We toggled those on for our webinar promo banners — “Free Workshop: Style With Intention” suddenly felt more cohesive, less choppy.

For our Pinterest campaign — focused on seasonal recipe cards and mood boards — we paired Hello June with Inter, a neutral, highly legible sans serif. That pairing created instant hierarchy: Hello June for the title (“Sunset Sips & Slow Evenings”), Inter for ingredients, notes, and CTAs. Same logic applied to our YouTube thumbnails: Hello June for the bold, two-word hook (“Golden Hour”, “No-Filter Vibes”), and a crisp, light-weight sans for the supporting line (“3 Tips You’ll Actually Use”). No font fighting. Just clarity.

It’s not a body font — and it shouldn’t be. Hello June shines in short-form, high-impact roles: sale labels (“+15% Off — Ends Sunday”), quote graphics (“Your calm is non-negotiable”), logo-style text for mini-campaigns (“June Journal Club”), and decorative headers in email banners. We avoided using it for paragraph text, fine print, or anything under 20px — not because it can’t handle it, but because its personality is strongest where it has room to breathe. Think of it as your campaign’s signature — not its voiceover.

Readability checks were non-negotiable. We tested Hello June over both light and dark backgrounds (it holds up beautifully on charcoal with white text), on image overlays (we added a subtle 10% black drop shadow for contrast on busy photos), and in fast-scrolling feeds (its consistent stroke weight prevents visual vibration). On thumbnails, we kept lines to one or two max — “Hello June” itself becomes a visual cue, like a brand watermark. Viewers don’t read it every time — they recognize it.

Before locking it into our final export, we double-checked the file package: OTF and WOFF2 included, full Latin character set, basic multilingual support (covers Spanish, French, German accents), and commercial licensing cleared for digital ads, client-facing templates, and Shopify theme use. No surprises. No last-minute swaps. Script Amp fonts are built for real workflows — not just design demos.

We also explored pairing options beyond sans serifs. With a warm, low-contrast serif like Cormorant Garamond, Hello June added soft contrast to editorial-style landing pages. With another script — say, a tighter, bolder handwritten font — it risked visual noise, so we saved that combo for very specific moments (like a hand-drawn “Thank You” stamp on a post-purchase email). The rule? Hello June leads. Everything else supports.

What surprised me most wasn’t how pretty it looked — it’s how much clearer our messaging became. Not louder. Clearer. When “New Arrivals” appeared in Hello June instead of our default system font, engagement metrics didn’t spike overnight — but comments shifted. People started tagging friends in the replies: *“This font is literally my summer mood.”* That’s resonance. That’s recognition. That’s a font doing its job.

So if you’re building a content series, prepping a seasonal sale, designing a set of Reels covers, or refreshing your brand’s visual shorthand — don’t reach for the safest script. Reach for the one that feels intentional, legible, and quietly confident. Hello June isn’t just another handwritten font. It’s the kind of typeface that makes your audience feel seen — before they even read the first word.
